Our very own Rick Faubion shows us again how to mix patterns - A patterned Luciano Barbera shirt, Barbera cashmere tie, and a charcoal Caruso suit all combine to make a classic outfit. The sizes and colors vary, and come together with ease when combined by Rick. If you still struggle with mizing patterns, remember a common ground color is the easiest trick, and read our blog post on patterns from last month.
Pocket Squares! Very few things really set the gentleman apart and really allow for a man to expose some personal style. Not only are they classic and always in style, they make an easy gift and the perfect stocking stuffer.
Simonnot Godard makes some of the best pocket squares in the world. Family owned since the late 1700s, Benjamin Simonnot (current owner) specializes in cotton and cotton-linen pochettes. The company has made them for everyone from Hermes to your very own Lawrence Covell.
We have a fantastic color selection in stock, including yellow, orange, various shades of blue, and of course classic white. Stop by and feel these wonderful squares - again, the perfect gift for anytime of the year!
New to the neighborhood at 278 Fillmore, Peace Dog takes over for the now gone CB Paws. Owned and run by ex-CB manager Beth Wright, Peace Dog has everything needed to provide a wonderful life for your fur kids. Beth has taken over the role of President of Belly Rubbing, and along with store manager Emma, is at the store every day to help the clientele.
As always, we love to support the independents, especially those that provide real quality and cater to pets. Please stop by and support Peace Dog. They have a handful of events including Yappy Hours that go to support things like the Max Fund. So stop by with your four legged friends, get a treat, and get to know Beth and new favorite Peace Dog.
Make the perfect stocking stuffer. Inexpensive, colorful, and useful, very few things are as "in" this season. We still have an amazing selection from Paul Smith, Etro, Johnstons, and others, so please stop in to brighten someone's Christmas.
Always makes for the perfect gift. The new lightweight, women's knits from the Irish Aran Islands are made of Linen and perfect for a holiday trip to the beach or as an additional layer on a cool Colorado day.
With thoughts of spring and warm adventures filling the head, it reminds us of the incredible new Red Maps at Lawrence Covell.
We have all of the cities you need, and each map has everything you need to make a trip into a holiday - the top stores, restaurants, museums, these maps are like little local friends in your pocket. And, if you forget a pocket square, these would look great peaking out of your jacket.
A new personal favorite of the store and Lawrence himself, we have to throw a little plug to new neighbor Ondo's. Ondo's, a Spanish Tapas bar, is our new neighbor residing at 250 Steele St, across the street from the store. You can learn more info at http://www.ondostapas.com/ or by calling 303.975.6514.
The owners and chefs met while learning their culinary skills in San Sebastian, Spain. No one knows authentic Spanish food like these two and their inventive and tasty menu shows how proper tapas should be prepared.
Please, check them out when you get a chance, and tell them Lawrence Covell sent you!
Since we are big fans of the scarf here at Lawrence Covell, we thought we would share some simple and easy ways to wear your new scarf.
The Once Around
The Neck Tie
The Slip Knot
All of these knots are unisex and look great on everyone. But, have a little fun, experiment, see what you like best even if that means just sticking a scarf in your coat pocket and letting it hang with a little color.
Remember, scarves make incredible and inexpensive gifts. We have an incredible selection of wool and cashmere choices from Etro, Paul Smith, Johnstons, Faliero Sarti, and Luciano Barbera.
The Holidays are fun because it gives us an excuse to dress up for a night. Tartan (Black Watch seen below), tuxedos, red or black cocktail dresses, velvet jackets, this is the time to shine. And as always, if you have that gap in your wardrobe, Lawrence Covell is here to help.
Is only one day away! Tomorrow, at 5pm, we will have our annual holiday party at the store. We will have raffles, drinks, food, everything needed for some good holiday cheer. Although there is no real dress code, we will all be in holiday garb and velvet. Please RSVP at 303.320.1023 to reserve your drinks!
Some customers might have seen this item on our recent email. But do we have a delightful and one of a kind gift for the golfer this holiday season -
A Luciano Barbera, leather golf bag. Luciano Barbera, known as one of the fabric kings and avid golfer himself, created this bag for the discriminant consumer. This bag, $1995, is made of super supple leather and the details are all top notch, exactly what is to be expected from Luciano Barbera. Again, this gift is perfect for the golfer husband or wife, so if your loved ones love the game of golf, keep this in mind as the stellar top-them-all gift of the season.
As scarves and colors have been big hits this season, we are receiving an incredible new shipment of Johnston's scarves at the end of this week. Starting at only $35, these are can't-miss items and the easiest way to add some warmth and interest to an otherwise stagnant and dreary look during Colorado's cold winters.
Have a black tie function? We have got you covered. Just check out the stylish clientele below, not only do they look amazing, our incredible tailor was able to get them set while they waited. Talk about unparalleled service!
